Before IrisVision
In 1998 Vincent Immediato, a Vietnam War veteran, was declared legally blind after suffering two strokes to each of his optic nerves. Years later he was told the events were due to parasites in his blood, contracted from his time in the war.
Prior to losing his vision, he restored and repaired guitars and amplifiers and traveled to various states while living in a motorhome for 10 years. “I did everything with my hands and eyes,” he explained. “All of a sudden that was gone.”
Recently, Vincent got in contact with the VA in hopes of finding something that could restore some of the independence he had lost. They introduced him to IrisVision. “I can now see everything I was not able to see before,” he says.
After IrisVision
“I can look out the kitchen window and see the red flag on my mailbox, flip through the switches on the AC device at home, go to the park and clearly see the animals and objects that I could barely make out in the past.”
