“To me, IrisVision is life changing.”

In their words

“It was like an explosion. You don’t realize what you missed until you can see what you missed.”

Before IrisVision

Jimmy Blakley, a Vietnam War veteran, has struggled with macular degeneration caused by exposure to Agent Orange. He had been searching for a solution for years until he discovered IrisVision, a low vision headset that has allowed him to do daily tasks, read, and take care of his wife. When asked about his experience with IrisVision, Jimmy shared,

After IrisVision

The IrisVision team, along with Dr. Frank Werblin, the National Eye Institute, and Johns Hopkins, have developed a wearable, adjustable, and affordable headset that provides a brighter and clearer world for those with low vision. The headset includes features such as IrisReader, which reads aloud anything you want to read, and Bubble Mode, which allows you to zoom in on objects far away while still seeing the rest of the scene.

Jimmy’s story is just one of many that showcases the life-changing impact of IrisVision. For those with low vision, the world can often feel isolating and dull. However, IrisVision is opening up the world once again, allowing people to see their loved ones’ faces and engage with the digital world. As Jimmy put it,

“To me, IrisVision is life-changing.”
