How do I get software updates? Why didn't I receive it?
When there is a new software update for your Vista, it is sent to the headset automatically. There is no extra charge.
Your Vista must be connected to Wi-Fi to receive updates. Viewing modes work without Wi-Fi; updates do not. Connect under Settings → Wi-Fi.
If you expected an update and do not have it, confirm Wi-Fi is connected, leave Vista on the charger for a while, and try again later. Still stuck? Contact us.
Can I use IrisVision devices to look at my computer screen or TV?
Yes. Use Television in the headset for a TV or computer across the room. Sit centered in front of the display. Stick up/down zooms; press Action to save that zoom. There is no flashlight in Television — it washes out a screen.
To stream HDMI video into the headset (cable box, computer, or a streaming stick), use Stream TV with Vision Cast. Setup is in Getting Started and the User Guide.
Image quality varies with screen size and how far you sit. Try a few distances.
Can I use IrisVision devices while riding as a passenger in a car or bus?
Yes, you can use Vista while riding as a passenger. To avoid motion sickness, keep the headset on your lap and bring it to your eyes to view signs and other objects as needed until you are used to it.
The most comfortable way is to sit and face forward, in the direction the vehicle is moving. After a short time, many people can look around more freely.
Do not use Vista if you are the driver.
Can I walk or drive with IrisVision devices?
No. Do not drive while using Vista. Do not walk while wearing the headset.
The same things that make it unsafe to drive — reduced peripheral vision and changed depth perception — make it unsafe to walk with the headset on.
Carry Vista and bring it to your eyes when you stop. At a museum, for example, use it at each exhibit and take it off as you move.
Can I use my IrisVision device outdoors?
Yes. That is one of the strengths of Vista.
Do not walk around while wearing the headset. Keep the lenses out of direct sun — they are magnifiers and can damage the phone screen.
Can I read with my IrisVision device?
Yes. Reading is a close-up magnifier for books, mail, labels, and packaging. Place the page on a steady surface with good light. Stick up/down zooms; press Action to save that zoom.
Open the Reading menu for colors such as Light, Dark, and Yellow, and for Read text, which photographs the page and reads it aloud. You can also say “read this.”

How do I get help without sending my IrisVision back?
If something is not listed here or in Troubleshooting, connect Vista to Wi-Fi and contact us. Many software issues can be fixed without shipping the headset.
